I've always wondered if someone knows (or guess) how does google order our results when using command site:mydomain.com.

Please, don't reply it is 'by relevance'. I want to know about your experience.

I can tell you that in my case:

    • New content it's usually placed in first positions for a while.
    • First results are not giving most of the traffic of mydomain.com
    Hope you have more suggestions/experience!

As with all SERPs, google lists the results based on over 200 different factors. However, since many of the factors are not relevant in this search, it will rank the pages according to how it quantifies your backlinks using pagerank.

From all tests I've done on this it's backlinks to the page.
    Very interesting though

    Thank you for your answers.

You are right, I've seen some of the first positions have good quality backlinks.

I am currently watching this in order to find some conclusions. I am not going to give up thinking google have 200 parameters, that is not my style. I am going to investigate because this kind of researching tasks are the ones that can give you advantage.

My last test with a new post and no backlinks has been placed in second position (first is homepage). It has no backlinks and it shows it as indexed '14 hours ago'. I am sure backlinks and time are the main reasons but I will keep on searching and try to find a link between this and order in serps.

    Thank you again!
