ok, with the changing times how exactly does google catch on to the new methods and techniques developed by experienced optimizers such as those on the forums. Is their a possibility that google may even monitor sites like this one and check to see what the latest optimization tricks we are talking about?, if this were the case it would definetly explain how they are always one step ahead. I'm sure that the script monitors for certain things however it definetly can't catch everything which leaves me to believe that they are watching what we say. Lately googles search engine has been more prone to optimize more organic sites leaving me to believe they are phasing out previous things programmed into their algorithm to grade sites this becomes evident when you notice that google penalizes now if for example your website begins to appear linked on too many sites per day. Anyway what do yall think?
Google programmers are smart... their goal is to deliver the most relevant results, not the most optimized. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they had some sort of rudimentary AI system in place as part of their algorithms. Google certainly is the hardest search engine to manipulate these days.
After a while it does make sense what they're doing. msn and Y! are so simple, with Google I can only encourage you to really do whatever you can to make your website bigger and better. If you want to be ranked long term, quick fixes alone are IMO not the way to go. And yes, Google people read forums, but that is only a small percentage of where they get their knowledge from.
The algorithm for google is simple amazing. It actually quite acurately mimicks human like behavior however I think along the way it becomes very unforgiving when it notices that people are doing things to undermine the proccess. It obviously calculates what the average number of say links a site generally would and should exchange in a certain time frame as well as the number of keywords on average listed in a site. The Joke is just that at the end of the day the people whom get the highest ranks are the ones that completely ignore SEO and focus on making their site as they see fit. Yahoo and MSN are definetly way behind google however I think yahoo's engine is gradually changing. Hopefully they will eventually get with the program. Msn however I predict will eventually roll out a service similar to google to compete, unfortunetly MSN search definetly ranks 3 when it comes to the most used search egines. First page results for me on yahoo resulted in 300 visitors additional a day while first page on msn for the same search term is lucky to scratch 75 per day. In response to what you said Blogmaster I'm sure your right about it only being a small percentage of where their knowledge comes from however it is dissapointing to know that they could actually be twarting our efforts. Ohh well its just my paranoya.
google is becoming a monopoly and unfortunately we must play their rule (microsoft style). it is amazing to believe that they can ban ur site and then somehow u just become invisible. thats power, thats monopoly, i hope soon the european union comes with a free search engine as they are planning.
I know a lot of people who are ranking high in Google and they have no clue why It's really an algo that keeps improving. And yes, agree 100% - imitating human behaviour is what they do. My best advice is always not to worry about current algos so much as about what people do on sites, how they act react and so on, and build a site that is really really good.
yeah I think thats definetly the best advice and I think google also monitors the constant change of a page so if you optimize it a certain way and leave it that way without changes over a certain amount of time google may calculate that you are simple creating a page in hopes that it will be indexed, then again static pages are also very important. The best advice is simple to ignore most of the stuff you here and see and simple focus on your customers and your sites needs.
