How does google determine if sites are related?

    I didn't think you were being arkward WelshGuy. We just disagree. :)

    So, as i was saying, Google can't do it with any degree of certainty.

    One of my sites links to personal development, self improvement and business development sites. I bet using that logic G wouldn't recognise them as related because they use lots of different terminologies used. Sometimes its not obvious to me that they are linked so i don't know how automated software would.

    Yes, very true I would say.

    Now, if there is a link between these two 'semantically very close' pages and if these pages are on different domains, would it not stand to reason that G would somehow consider this link more valuable than a link from a semantically distant page?
