how does google deal with back links from the same site???

  1. #1
    let's say there is two pages in one site
    one page has PR3 and the other has PR5. both pages on the same site.
    If i have my site link on the two pages, how google will deal with this??

    From my experience, it values them less than PR 5 + PR 3 links from 2 different domains and more than PR 5 link. Simply every other link from the same domain helps but has lower value.

    i dont think so, they only count it as one and in my opinion they like the link coming from 1 page not everyone thats why google dont like footer link so much.

    If the links are contextual links or are in different places on different relevant pages then more than likely you will get FULL credit for both links. If, however, they are part of the other site's page "template" (i.e. it's a site-wide footer link or a site-wide blogroll link or some other "site-wide" link) then the links are likely discounted.
