I want to know how Google benefits from giving a Pagerank to a domain. Is Pagerank to domain really important?
its just part of their algorithm.. how they exactly benefit from it, not sure.. and is pagerank importan? i don't think google is going to put that PR thing for nothing.. so i think yes it still important..
I don't think it has a direct effect on google. I think it's just a way to put websites in a rank or "category" based on quality links. I don't think it necessarily benefits google though their algorithm is enough to decide which websites will rank higher than other websites in search engines, PR is just a fancy number attached to a website.
It does benefit users as well. If you know a site has high pr then you know it is a good site. If it has no pr or low pr then you know it is new site or sucky website.
for most of the webmaster they think pagerank has greater effect on improving their site rank. But for me I think it's not necessary. Trying to improved the site ranking is my top priority than increasing PR. The site can still get good ranking even has low PR.
Google doesn't benefit. Pagerank is a term that comes from Larry Page's thesis regarding how to evaluate the importance of a page. It is a public document and can be found online.
Google benefits from good will. If Google does a good job picking the right website for each query, users will trust Google more, and will go back for answers when they need it. Then Google can sell ads along side the answer. That is when Google makes money. Are you kidding? PageRank is the most important attribute of a website.
PR is just game of number. It is one of the factor that affect the crawl frequency and SERP, that's all
