Hello all. I visited GetAFreelancer.com and I don't understand how to whole bidding works? When members bid on a project, are they going to have to pay the price they bid, or is that how much the project owner pays them for the job? Thanks.

yes, the price you bid is the price you want to get paid for the work you will complete.

Not always the lowest, sometimes you just get to bid below the rate you want to earn in order to get the project. It's a crappy way to make a living. You're better off focusing your marketing efforts on your local market and try to find clients and build long-term relationships with them and sell your services at your local rates instead of the competing against freelancers in cheaper parts of the world (and there's always a cheaper part of the world).

Just remember: the cheapest clients will hire the cheapest consultants and get shafted in the end. Do yourself a favor and try not to be either of the above.
