I saw some easy PR6 and PR5 sites, but this site is PR7. Very little contents. Few backlinks. No links from high PRs...

Has link from Yahoo directory, PR5, PR6 links (could now be PR6, PR7 links - but the toolbar is busted) links from .gov .edu. sites, which could be classed as authority sites.

Why does PR matter anyway? Surely getting ranked above them matters most?

PR matters because it is a big deciding factor in getting ranked above them ;)

Plenty of pr 6 links from pages with less than 100 links on them:

    Here are a few:
    www dot sciencemag.org/feature/plus/sfg/education/index.shtml pr7 108 links
    www dot cdc.gov/genomics/info/perspectives/pharmaco.htm pr6 42 links
www dot dnafiles.org/resources/res04.html pr6 80 links (they have several from this site)

All the links I looked at were from very well related pages so you need to pretty much work through the sites that link to them and get the pr5+ pages to link to you as well.

Looks like a very PR rich sector.

google doesn't show all backlinks with link: command. There could be a few PR7 not shown.
