How Does Everyone Plan Their Week?

    Hello all,

This question is for people who have had an online business for awhile.

I am trying to become more efficient in building an online business. I have set long term goals but unless you are hitting targets daily, weekly, monthly then your long term target is just a wet dream...lol

Basically I pretty much do things all willy nilly right now. For example...writing content one day...then getting caught in web design for the next few days...then doing link building here and there. I just have a disorganized way of doing things.

So I'm trying to be more focused so I came up with the following schedule for the week.

Day1 - Planning and Strategizing for the week
Day2 - keyword and competition research
Day3 - Finding Affiliate programs to promote or selling products
Day4 - build web pages, landing pages templates
Day5 - Develop Content - articles, web copy etc
Day6 - Develop Traffic - PPC, Link Building, Submit Articles to Directories
Day7 - Rest have fun, give rest thx and bless all that good stuff

    Does this schedule make sense?
Mind you I will be managing multiple sites at the same time on each day.

March 14 goals: x registrations, $x from (revenue stream)
April 1 goals: y registrations, $y from (revenue stream)

And then I wing it and do whatever works.

Yep. Not very organized but it's worked for me.

I'm pretty busy without my online business, so really I work on it whenever I'm free. Not organized or planned or anything like that, but I manage.

Some of the things you mentioned shouldn't be done as often...while others should be done more often. For instance, do you really need 8 hours to plan for an entire week? I mean, Google doesn't even spend an entire day planning 5 days ahead.

    1. Keyword Research: Should be done whenever you are writing new content. Find the words and then incorporate them into your content (not stuffing them)

    2. Affiliate Programs: Why is this taking you an entire day? If you write about your favorite widget, include a link to a site that sells that widget. Shouldn't take you an entire day.

    3. Building Webpages: Depending on the detail. it could take more than one day to build a site/page. Why are you doing this once a week? Do it once and forget about it until you need to do it again. Building webpages is not a recurring activity...you should settle on a template and work your content into it.

    4. Content: This is a must and is probably the only thing on your list that actually needs to be scheduled.

    5. Develop Traffic: Spend parts of each day doing this...wake up in the morning and do directory submissions. Doing it on a daily basis make it much easier.

I'm quite new to this and am winging it at the moment. Perhaps I need a plan as well, huh?

I forgot to mention that I work a 9 to 5 so I have about 3 to 4 hours each evening to work on my business.

Also, the reason I came up with this schedule is because my goal was to make 10 websites(insane I know), add content to them, build links etc. So I figured it would be better to work on a set schedule so that all of my projects get the needed attention.

But what your saying makes sense it would be better to divide each day up into different activities. For example for 1 hour each day work on getting traffic...the next couple of hours work on content etc.
