I would imagine that this is an issue that couldn't be further from Shawn's mind at the moment. I think he has bigger fish to fry.....

I would disagree. Have a look HERE

$10,000+ a month is no small deal.

You only get %50 of the revenue that is made by topics you start.

If you start clicking on your own ads, it's nothing Shawn has to worry about, all you will do is get your own account banned. Go ahead and click on your own ads all you want.

How would you get your own account banned? If you aren't logged in, and only 50% of the clicks go to you, what could anybody do?

Google will see suspicious links on your account and ban you. Simple.

Really? SO I could write a script to click on someone elses ads from a thread they start, and get them banned. Nice.

I love when people just make things up as they go. When has this ever happened? When has anybody ever been banned by Google for someone clicking on ads that are being served on a site that isn't even theirs?

Well after reading my PM's I see I'm not the first person to have thought of this. I guess I'm just a schmuck for bringing it to light, rather than utilizing it. Oh well.

As people have said, Google does the fraud checking not DP.

When your ad is shown on a page, it is YOUR google account, not DPs. That means Google will fraud check it just like they do any other site.

    http://stason.org/articles/money/how_to_bring_google_adsense_down.html

And as far as Google are concerned, your adsense ID is used on the page, you're making money from the page, so it IS your page, regardless of who actually owns the site. They couldn't care less who owns the site, it never comes into consideration, only which adsense ID is used.
