Hi...how does commenting on Do-Follow blogs exactly effect my PageRank? For example, say that my Blog is a PR0, and I comment on 100 PR 3 Do-Follow Blogs...assuming all the comments were indexed, what would my PR be for my blog after the next Google update? I saw a very good chart here (DP) once and it showed exactly how many links you need from Various sites with certain PR to achieve that rank.
I have never noticed an exact way to calculate, since many of the PR0 links will actually be PR1 but haven't updated, for example. But if your entire link building campaign is blog commenting you could run into problems - penalties.
I guess I just wonder if a Blog comment link is as valuable as all other links...assuming all things being equal. For example a blog comment link from a PR 6 blog..and a directory link from a PR 6 directory. In terms of my overall PR, will those 2 links be "calculated" the same?
BTW if your looking to find DoFollow blogs, I found a pretty cool site: http://dofollower.info Enjoy!
If you're concerned about actual PageRank (which you shouldn't be) then you'll need to get some links from pages that have PR themselves. 100 PR0 links may get you up to PR1, but it wouldn't help you much. You need a balanced approach using mutliple strategies.
Its hard to tell how links affect your pr but the more links you have the higher pr you'll get. Also if you want to help with your SERPS post your link with anchor text
Through comments hardly you will get quality backlinks because the comment go into the inner pages overtime which have hardly page rank, however if you get your link placed in blogroll or footer it will worth much more because you'll get link juice direct from home page.
No, but I expect Google would think that way. They could have a filter to easily catch spam sites, since any site with solely blog comments as backlinks is likely a blog spammer...
Some of my sites have good ranking and PR, which 90% of backlinks come from blog comment. (I'm NOT a blog spammer ) . If you are right then may be I should pay for someone for directory submission now
any good link builder knows that you have to mix up your strategies.. google is amazing at detecting patterns.. so if you only use one linking strategy.. in this case dofollow blog commenting.. then you're raising a red flag because it's not natural and it's an obvious pattern. Instead, keep using dofollow blog commenting, but mix it up with some other strategies as well. If you have no money, submit to some free directories and also submit a couple of quality articles to E-zine with a couple of links back to your site. Or if you have some money, then you can submit to some higher quality directories and look into article syndication with a service like I-snare, where you can get plenty of links from just one quality article. Enjoy!
