How does buying/selling traffic works?

I've seen a Traffic section in Buy-Sell-Trade section, and I had been looking around a bit. However, I was confused on how is it going to work.

I saw something like XXXXX traffic for XXX dollars, but wouldn't that be the same as advertising, as for the impressions count?

Well I really have no idea how this works, would someone please explain it to me?

Most of it is pop up traffic and adsense doesn't approve of it. hitscampaign.com

 

Please correct me if I am wrong but I think that Adsense doesn't allow people to show ads in a pop-up or pop-under. But it is ok to purchase pop-up or pop-under traffic to promote your site.

 

Not exactly sure what your question is but as far as buying traffic; You pay x dollars for xxxx amount of traffic. So take the pop-under traffic that I sell, you want 5000 US visitors then we charge $18.75 and we will deliver 5000 pop-under windows which show your webpage/website and these 5000 visitors are generated from the US.

 

Well buying traffic is a very good way to start off getting your site out there into the world. A lot of people will see if in a short amount of time and for a low cost. If your site is unique, you hope that people will tell their friends and things will take off from there for you.

 

It's junk traffic - not recommended.

 

Like someone said, it is good to get traffic just to get your rankings up on a site like squidoo or hubpages. It also isn't traffic that will convert. So it is up to you what you need the traffic for.
