How does azoogle know someone bought a product through using someone's link? Is there a cookie inserted into the buyer when using the link or something?

The link that azoogle provides includes a unique affiliate ID that is assigned to you. When the visitors purchases something they track it back to your affiliate ID which is connected with your account.

They place code in the "order confirmation" page that lets them know the order is complete along with the cookie placed at landing page.

Yeah they have a pixel image on the confirmation page of the advertiser, and when that is hit, corresponding with your affiliate id, you get credit.

it could be cookie based, or ip based, or passed through as an argument on the merchant's side, or a combination of these methods.
