Affiliate networks as a company will promote all there client's products through their members called as affiliates.
These act as the middleman between clients and affiliates

Well, In my life time (more than 10 years on net), I have never bought anything by clicking ads on someone else site, If i need something I directly go to ebay or amazon or craigslist to find a deal and buy, So I still dont understand how affliates program is going to work as why someone will but stuff from some one`s else site when you have ebay, amazon and cragslists... It`s for my knowlwdge too....

It depends on the trust of the affiliate network and the merchants.

They have the transaction data, not you.

So affiliates do have a disadvantage not having such data/info the first hand.

What some people haven't mentioned is the difference between working directly with an advertiser (more rare, but possible) vs a network. Most of the time, networks have no idea on how well your traffic is backing out for the advertiser because they often have little of no feedback/communication with the advertiser. It's tough because a network with several hundred offers, it's an insurmountable task to know how every traffic source is doing for each advertiser. The downside of this happens when an advertiser figures out (ofter very late in the game) that leads from a given traffic source or network as a whole is not backing out or converting to sales for them which results in the network and or affiliate getting paid. Whenever possible, ask for feedback on the backend quality of your traffic. I regularly provide feedback to all my affiliate/publishers as I have direct access to the backend as the advertiser. Good luck.

    Hello ,
Just by googling i fouond following answers

An affiliate network acts as an intermediary between publishers (affiliates) and merchant affiliate programs. It allows website publishers to more easily find and participate in affiliate programs which are suitable for their website (and thus generate income from those programs), and allows websites offering affiliate programs (typically online merchants) to reach a larger audience by promoting their affiliate programs to all of the publishers participating in the affiliate network.[1]

Traditional affiliate networks enable merchants to offer publishers a share of any revenue that is generated by the merchant from visitors to the publisher's site, or a fee for each visitor on the publisher's site that completes a specific action (making a purchase, registering for a newsletter, etc.). The majority of merchant programs have a revenue share model, as opposed to a fee-per-action model.[2]

For merchants, affiliate network services and benefits may include tracking technology, reporting tools, payment processing, and access to a large base of publishers. For affiliates, services and benefits can include simplifying the process of registering for one or more merchant affiliate programs, reporting tools, and payment aggregation.

Affiliates are generally able to join affiliate networks for free, whereas there is generally a fee for merchants to participate. Traditional affiliate networks might charge an initial setup fee and/or a recurring membership fee. It is also common for affiliate networks to charge merchants a percentage of the commissions paid to affiliates.

Affiliate is way on how to earn money online. There are different kind of ways on how they pay. Some pay you on how many unique IP clicks you send to their site, others pay a fixed cost per sale or % of the entire purchase by the visitor.

Affiliate marketing is a very famous and profitable website business. Affiliate receives commission on every customer who makes a purchase on their products or services. when a sale occurred, a commission is paid o the marketer of affiliate which can be ranges from 10%-60%.Affiliate Network has a process by which an affilator can be benefited.
After signing up for affiliate marketing you should have to select merchants and prepare ad. whenever visitors clicked on the ad cookie placed on the visitors web browser. If cookie track any sales then the merchant approves the transaction. After a month commission reports are prepared and finally commissions are paid.

one time of affilate network is that, you will earn if you refer company clients.

second type is sign ups, this type of network need you to create a site like giving away free premium content, so people will complete signup offer for that thing to download, and you will earn credits.
