How does AIM work? A guy gave me his screen name and told me to msg him. So i installed AIM and it shows that hes offline. He told me hes always online as the msg gets forward to his cell phone. So now, when i try to msg him, it says "cannot msg offline contact" How can i msg him so it goes on his cell phone?
send a message and wait for him to reply. even if he trully is offline, he will get it when he logs back on
I'm assuming you're using an older version? The newest version can detect when a user is in the cell-phone mode and show them as online.
Check again that the screen name is right, and that you didn't put "screenname@aim.com" or anything. Could it be that he's actually offline? This is the version that yells at me so I use aim 4.9 instead, which is the one shipped with my computer.
