Keep in mind, however, that relevant linking is still very important and even irrelevant links can be helpful (though less so than relevant links).

Why people care about PR is because of few factors. But definitely not SERP.

The only thing that PR matters to me is because, PR is used for selling links. So having high PR the more $$$ you will have.

 

Well this was my very first thought last night when the penny finally dropped after reading this thread. How frustrating that the prices charged for ads is dependant on a factor that actually has very little value.

It's kinda like the stock exchange. When an Eskimo farts in his igloo on the North pole, the price of oil goes up. The fact that an Eskimo fart has no REAL effect on oil production is irrelivent. The price goes up anyway because it's "the done thing."

 

I like MSN LIVE Search. I have a few sites that rank #1 One of my sites a 2 word keyword ranks mine #1 and overture says there is 1million searchs last month.
But my stats for this month have only shown live bringing in 250 people...
Its a PR0 site but yea i know pr is only a google thing. I have another site thats PR5 and i cant find it on live and its like page 3 in google. So im not convinced that PR helps me at all since I dont sell links...well not on any of those sites I dont...
