errrmmm? did you say run vbulletin? It's not exactly rocket science, you just buy a licence, install a forum and you're done.. PS. and don't ask me about my forum, I won't tell you, I know you'll spam it!
hahaha you can import USENET groups directly into VB and get content prepopulated daily. Great way to add content to your forums technical and non tehcnical.... i know of some sites that have tons of windows and XP discussion right in their forums! what was your forum again? PM me and we can discuss if you are intrigued!
forums take a lot of time to promote and take care of and don't make much money. It isn't worth it. Better just make another site..
This is true ^ but it's not for the feint hearted...Michael's right when he says that they take a lot of time and a lot of care...If done properly, they can be rewarding, but only in the long run. I'd say that the vast majority of forums (80%) fail within the first 3 months.
That's very true, just take a look at the forums that try use the 'post exchange' method, those die off quick.
