How do you view site without affecting analytics stats?

    Some analytics programs, such as StatCounter, allow you to block the counting of visits from your IP address. Check your stat program's instructions for an option like that.

    With that option enabled, you can surf your website's pages frequently (as many of us do in our SEO work) without having those meaningless visits counted as genuine traffic.

    it does not seem to work for me. I don't know too much about ip addresses but don't they change frequently?

    There is a topic on this in the Google Analytics Help center - what you basically do is create a page that sets a cookie on the computer that you are using - it will then filter the machine you are using and exclude it from the results.

    Its a bit technical, but visit this link and see if it makes sense.
