    Getting a bit bored with spam, like trading requests and associated garbage, where do you turn private messaging off? And how do you deleye old messages?

    Try modifying the settings here - https://forums.digitalpoint.com/account/privacy
    "Start conversations with you" -> Maybe try changing it to "people you follow only" or even remove the check box.
    Hope it works.

    anyways nmridul is right you can turn off/control conversations in this way

    and to delete any conversations as Shawn said in many thread you can just leave that conversations.
    The option is appears on right top corner of every conversations as you open them.
