How Do You Transfer Blog When Buying Them In The BST Section?

    Hi!

I was just wondering... If I bought a blog from the BST section, how would I transfer it? Obviously I'd first transfer the domain, but...

If its wordpress/joomla etc. would it be a case of exporting the database and then importing it into my database and then copying all the files from their server to mine?

What if its a Blogger/Blogspot etc. blog? Do I get their password instead?

    Thanks for your help!

    Will

For any hosted blog or CMS, just make sure you get the database AND all the theme files AND the blog/db login and passwords.
If the seller has modified any of the source files (e.g if they've hacked Wordpress or whatever), then make sure you get the modified files too.
Just get the seller to backup their entire site, and databases, and just for convenience note down all the necessary logins/passwords.

If you're buying a 'free' hosted WP or Blogger site, then I have no idea what the protocol is.

I believe that the owner of a freely hosted blog needs to add you, and then withdraw himself.

Something to that point, although I can't remember currently since I don't work with them now a days.

There is a detailed guide on moving a site here. Obviously you need to read the database based version.

Like Kerosene I haven't a clue about a third party hosted one.
