I remember the guy from TMZ saying that Michael's death was "death by entourage". He explained that, because a man like MJ would be surrounded by a massive entourage, when he went into arrest or whatever, while his personal physician was trying to revive him the entourage had a meeting and first called the lawyer, then the publicist, then another lawyer... That's why it took half an hour before they finally called the hospital.
Sounds like it was a very powerful sedative that he took via IV to 'sleep and relax' on top of anti-depressants and other OTC drugs he was injesting regularly. He had been warned repeatedly that he may never wake up, but did not heed the warnings.
I dont what the detailed reasons why he died. The reports say that or this. It is a loss of our world, he is a music talent, he made a lot of classic musics and dances when he was young.

drugs definitely. He can get drugs from anywhere. He has had trouble sleeping for years. He took drugs that helped induce sleep. He had asked some of his regular doctors/therapists and they had refused him some heavier sedatives. He is Michael Jackson - he can get what he wants/needs from someone/somewhere. This is what he did and he messed up - now he is asleep alright.
