I'm new to ppc, but I'm just wondering what everyone here does to test offers. Do you just direct link to the merchant landing page, or do you create your own LP from the start?
If you're new to the market then you can just send traffic directly to the advertiser LP, it may convert high or low depending on the look and feel of the page. If you know how to design a landing page or really good with content writing, then I would suggest to build your own landing page and write an article about the product that you are promoting, and have link that redirect to the merchant landing page. If you write content on your own landing page, you will prob. get a lower CPC rate versus sending the traffic directly to the advertiser LP. It also varies on what type of product you are promoting. If you promote an non branded or niche product you can get a lower CPC rate if sending traffic directly to the merchant page, but if you are promoting a well branded product (ex. Blockbuster, discover card, etc.) you will likely have to spend a lot more money on the CPC. If that is the case, making your own landing page would make more sense It also depends on how you get paid on this offer, meaning CPA (cost per action) or CPL (cost per lead). If it’s a CPA type of offer, the risk may be higher since the advertiser will not pay unless someone orders their product or service. If it’s a CPL type of offer, you will get paid as long as someone just simply fills out the form. If you are looking to promote a branded type product, I would recommend http://www.viralpartnership.com (they only offer branded offers for entertainment, education, finance, etc. and the most important thing is that they pay on time) All their offers are either CPA or CPL. Good luck!
