Sorry very new to this and still learning. What I would like to know is how do you target keywords on your site? I have looked at some other posts on this site and hear this quite often but unsure how to go about it. Can I give an example? my site is about guitars and song writing so if I think my best two keyword phrases are guitar tabs and guitar songs what do I do next?

Is it just a case of putting these phrases into the page I want to target as many times as I can? or do i need them in the title and meta section? Do I put these word and hyperlink them? I'm just not sure and would love a simple explanation of what to do.

    Thanks

If you are trying to rank for "guitar tabs"

for onpage SEO - eg factors you can control on your page that will help you rank

    1. Make sure "guitar tabs" is in your title tag
    2. Make sure "guitar tabs" is in your meta description
    3. Make sure "guitar tabs" is in you h1 tag
    4. Make sure your content has at least a 2-4% Keyword density eg guitar tabs is mentioned 2-4 times out of 100 words

Thanks man the best info I've got yet. Would it be sensible to target say one or two phrases per page for example guitar tabs and guitar songs on my home page then I have a page for videos so target guitar videos and song videos on that.

    Cheers
