How do you store your site related information?

Hi webmasters. I'm still rather new to this game, and I have a question concerning how to keep business related information.

I'm looking to find out what, if anything, you people are using to keep track of your work. Things such as when a site of yours went live, how long you spent on it, when it was indexed, or whatever business related information you track. I've been using Outlook, but I find that is not offering everything in as easy a way as i would like.

Anyone want to share some ideas of what you track, and how?

I just organize all of my website files in a folder on my laptop... date started and completed aren't relevant to me so I don't keep track.

Do you have microsoft word one? You can organize your information about your projects in there.

microsoft word one? You mean word? That is unfortunately not what I'm after. I'm more after a database based app that can be queried etc.

The more I think about it, I may have to start mucking around with Access or something.

hm..access sounds like it could do the trick. excel would probably work, but it'd probably be more work than access in the long run

    i just stick with excel

If i had access i would design you a database! too bad i don't.

Excel could do the trick, you just need to list what you want to record.

I your wanting to record details of customer/their contact details/launch dates/projects/ etc

If its just for 1 site that you own. You could write it up in word, and as i imagine you would have the folder with your websites files inside, you could also keep this detail doc in there as well.
