This guy has the right idea.

Software (including Firefox and other password storing software) crashes. Computers crash. Pieces of paper get lost.

But you will always remember the system you use to get your passwords.

    haha,

I use my brain. Its the safest when you take security into account.
My MS Excel sheet provides me safety as far as loosing the information is concerned.

    Try it :)

My password making formula is so complex that its not just "rotating letters". I just gave an example, if you look at my password you wont be able to guess the method.

    ;)

Well that might be risky. I used to use roboform until it expired. Now I use my brain and save the passwords on a text file as back up :p

I don't trust my brain so naturally I must rely on other sources.

I have to keep track of client passwords for email and hosting (for when they forget), plus all the info for each of my own sites, plus all my 'recreational' passwords (flickr, youtube etc). It all adds up.

I'm amazed that people trust their passwords (and livelihoods) to their brains. What if you get an acquired brain injury and can't relay the passwords to your family? The income just disappears.

I use the same 2 passwords for everything I own.

If you know even one of them, I am at your service.

    Are you calling me dumb?

Using one password isn't bad. It's quite helpful, you just need to know how to keep it a secret.
