Hello people, its been a while.... I have been looking all over the internet trying to find out how to start an affiliate program for a website and earn commision from sales made by affiliate sign-up'ees! I have found info on becoming an affiliate for another website and info on making an affiliate website, but with no mention of making money. I think marketing/promotion would be the profit here. What I would like to know, if anyone can help me, is how would someone go about being "at the top of the food chain" if you like, in an affiliate context. Asuming you had a popular website already up and running, how would you go about setting up an affiliate programe so to take a percentage of every sale of future affiliates? AND, subsequent affiliates taking a percentage from their sign-up'ees... and so on...! A little bit of enlightenment would be much appreciated. Thank you.
There are a ton of ways to do it, from posting banners on your website or blog, to making direct affiliate offers. You'll need: A website - blogger or wordpress should be a good way to go A product - clickbank or commission junction can be good resources and it's really easy to use Knowledge on how to market the product A plan to execute (seo or ppc or both) There's a free program to help you with the website and seo at online-affiliate-marketer.com -- look for "mining money online" on the tools and training page. I have a question with starting up with a website. If the majority of the content will be affiliate offers, what are you supposed to put on the website when you submit it to an affiliate program?
Ye Ye.... I hear that.... I have been reading some blogs of people who make money by signing up to affiliate programs, but looking into it I have come to the conclusion that you need to be a bit of a marketing wizz to make any real money, or be the guy at the top with the website offering the affilate offers. Thanks for all your replies anyway, I hope I will be in a position one day to use this advice for real... and full fill my dream of being a modern day nomad, traveling the world with my just my laptop and a hammok.. Yes, I would love to be the guy at the top of the affiliate food chain. Not sure I would travel with a hammock though. LOL
