How do you sell your product?

I'm not looking for specific secrets that will change the world here, just basic ideas. I know that as of late, blogs and newsletters as well as sales copy are some of the biggest sellers for information products. What other methods are fairly common? I'm putting together my first product and need to get started on sales ideas once I'm done.

For your first product, write a good sales letter and drive traffic using Adwords. Use Clickbank as the payment processor for your first product (built-in army of affiiates). Offer a good affiliate commission (at least 50% of your product's price) and encourage others to promote your product.

Affiliates, of course. Didn't even cross my mind. Thanks! What else would you recommend?

I created a successful site about a year and a half ago, called the Two Percent Club, that brought me in quite a few bucks! It was an affiliate marketing education site that offered relevant content, affiliate help, free resources, and the entire site was free. In addition, I also offered generous rebates and bonuses you could pick from a list if you purchased "Recommended Tools" through my site. That is where I made my money.

I wanted to bring my visitors more and better education, training, tools, etc. but to do so meant expanding my business and spending more money. I figured if I "brought a better product to my viewers/customers" but now charged for it, my customers would probably upgrade once I rebuilt the site. I rebuilt it as a Membership site and released it this past February. And, I was right. Not only have many of my previous customers upgraded, but I am gaining new customers who are joining my membership site and buying additional services through me.

I have also added a "Members Only" affiliate program that pays 50% for any referral who upgrades, and the commissions are RESIDUAL....as long as your referral remains a member, you get a 50% commission on the package(s) he chooses for as long as he and you remain members.

I am working on another Membership site that will be viral. It will allow you to send emails to friends/colleagues or advertise on you site for referrals. If you get 10 referrals who sign up as free members, you get your first month's Regular Membership at half price. It will also have a OTO to upgrade at 1/2 price for the first month for anyone who takes it upon sign up. The Regular Upgrade will charge the regular price from the first month. The first month at 1/2 price or free can be considered a trial month. We do offer refunds within the first month. It will be an adsense/affiliate selling site. We will give you one adsense/affilate ready-made site a month just for becoming a Free member....and 6 a month if you upgrade.

Just a few ideas to throw out there. If you want to see what I am up to, see the sites in my signature. All of them are mine....We only grow by sharing.

Craigslist, and other classifieds site are good way to drive traffic for free. eBay is also a good one, plus they recently implemented a classified section.

Smaller PPC services are good way for traffic. Their ROI better than Google Adwords and Overture.

Awesome. I could also post my ebook (once it's done) on there for cheap I imagine.
