How do you respond to takedown notices?

    Just wondering how yall respond to dmca takesdown notices. For now ive been just responding acknowledging the content has been deleted and re-linking to the reported content. Anything else yall do? Thanks.

    That depends... are you the alleged infringer?

    ...or do you have a web resource that allows others to post information and one of them allegedly infringed?

    You should remove the alleged content immediately and advise the claimant when that is done.

    You also need to get yourself listed as a designated agent under DMCA Title II which is a safe harbor from liability for all online service providers http://www.copyright.gov/onlinesp/ which has a $105 fee and forms to complete.

    Be advise that just removing the alleged content doesn't protect you from claims of damage.
