How do you register a nameserver - especially at namecheap-?

    How do you register one of you domains as nameserver?

    I need to register one of my domains as nameserver but get this error: "ns1.mydomain.com - Error: Root domain cannot be found."

    I wonder how you guys do that, perhaps I am doing something fundamentally wrong.

    I asked and they said I have to register a domain as nameserver at the registrar. So I went to namecheap and tried to register a domain as nameserver and got this error:
    "ns1.mydomain.com - Error: Root domain cannot be found."

    OK, I managed to get another domain registered. strang!
