How do you read this?

    These are the backlink numbers for one of my sites:

    The site is more than 2 years old, has a pretty constant number of members (about 400 or so), and I do not actively optimize it. The backlinks should be pretty stable, coming from other clubs and BBs in the fan community, and in no case can jump from 5 to 90, then drop to 26 the very next day. How is that to be interpreted?
    Oh, just to add one more, this is the site: The Battle Group (it is a strategy sim game of WWII battles).
