    The word niche' is actually French like so many other English words it's from one of the conquered nations (wait a minute - it might have been the other way around) and is thus pronounced neesh. Forget about the Yanks they can't even spell colour correctly.

    I pronounce it 'Nitch' but my brothers girlfriend always corrects me and pronounces it 'Neesh' but it doesn't really matter everyone knows what you mean no matter how you pronounce it.

    I am American, I have always pronounced it Nitch. Therefore, it is Nitch because I pronounce it that way and I am American.
