This topic may be suitable for the AdWords forum, but I wasn't sure...I wanted an experienced answer. How can I promote CJ directly from an AdWords campaign? Since the destination URL (affiliate link) is different than the display URL, it's not allowed correct? Or the fact that it redirects is ok? How are some of you guys promoting?
for the display url, just use the url that the link will end up at. Also, there will be alot of competition for those keywords, as the company who is running the affiliate program will probably have a lock on the main keywords. It can be done, just be prepared to pay a small fortune for some of the good keywords. I made 2 sales before someone took notice and bid me out of the water. Funny thing is, I'm starting to see TV commercials for the niche item I was promoting.
So Google doesn't penalize you or give you a bad quality score for your an affiliate URL that doesn't have the same domain as the display url as the destination URL?
The display URL must match the final destination URL. The CJ link just redirects. Anyway, make sure to check out the advertiser's "Keyword Link" before doing anything with PPC, to see any restrictions.
So "destination page" is the correct display url or the http://www.tkqlhce.com/click-xxxxxxxx-xxxxxxx ? Many thanks.
No, the destination page is the page on the merchant's website. Your display URL is the merchants domain name. Your problem will be if other affiliates do the same bidding only the highest bidder will see his ad displayed since Google does not allow more than 1 domain name per result page. You also need to verify if the merchant allows direct bidding. Some do, others specifically say no. They want the spot. You're better of with your own domain name. Chris
