There are those wonderful times of the year when googlebot sees who has been naughty and nice. What do you, individually, do when you know a Google PageRank update is approaching?
Well, when PR update is about to come it's usually to late to do anything. Start building links right after it and prepare for the next one is the best strategy.
I don't prepare for the update at all. I build links when I feel like it and the resulting PR is just another fact resulting from that.
at this time, i'm working hard to create more useful atricles, then submit in Social Bookmarks website, i think social bookmarks give me quality backlinks and make my serps better in some keywords.
Just looking for good back links as many as possible.Anyway,i do it for fun,so whenever to build backlinks are okay for me.
I don't prepare myself for PR update. BTW, I beleive that PR is updated as frequent as google visits your site, or any site that links to you (but the integer made publically available atleast quarterly) just like financial statements of a company that keeps building but released every 3 or 6 months to the public. So, I don't care about the PR that much.
I try and get links to my sites / blogs on a regular basis and I think thats the best strategy. Your site should keep getting regular back links rather than a spike in the amount of backlinks obtained before or after a PR update, as that might lead to some sort of penalty, as G might think they are bought links.
I delete DP from my bookmarks and try not to visit for a few weeks. The obsession with something that means nothing really puts me off this forum.
Site promotion is ongoing and never stops... there is no reason to "prepare" if you are doing promotion correctly...
I don't prepare, I do my site promotion 24/7. So basically, it's just natural as to whatever my site(s) slide to.
pr is a year round effort ,if you think you only have to work on it around the pr update times you will fail.I have pr7 sites and every day these sites have new content added i buy links for it and other services. you have to keep up with your competition to keep your serps and pr.One good thing to do when you buy high pr links is to track the dates . i have a pr4 site that i bought a pr8 link for back March 29 and it didnt count in the last pr update.another site i bought the link march 11 and that site made pr7 .So the last snapshop occurred after march 11 but before march 29.If you are scrambling to buy links they will not count this time
