How do you password protect a windows folder?

I have a folder on my Windows XP desktop that I would like to password protect, so that when you double click on the folder it would ask you for a password. Anyone know how I would go about doing this?

    Thanks!

You can't just do it with a Windows option. You need to download a software called folder guard I think...

You could set up another xp user and only give access to that user and then do a run/as on the program that accesses the folder.

In windows xp make your own login and it will create a diffrene profile for you then only you can access your profile date and event everything will be safe like safe searching, no one will know what you were searching your online revenue secret :D

or if you want simple a privacy for just a folder go for any third pary utility.

I don't think that it's possible to lock or set a password for a folder. Why don't you try another trick like hid your folder.

I'm using winrar in windows to protect my files and folder with password.
It work better, and also compress your file and save space of your hard disk.
