How do you orginize your ads?

I have just about a dozen websites I run and use Google Adsense on them to earn a little revenue on them. Lately after looking at the stats I've been wondering if there is any better way to organize the ad channels and type?

Right now I've been creating a new ad type and channel for that ad type, however I've also in the past used different ad types and then assigned them to just one channel. After thinking about it I think one way to clean up the stats to provide a better understanding would be to create one channel for each site and then create a new ad for each placement. Then I'd see overall which site is performing the most/best and then using Google's new Adsense interface I would then be able to see which ad's are performing from there. That way I still know how each ad is performing (example, in the header, footer, body, etc).

In the past this isn't something I've really put much though into, but now I'm curious how do you have your adsense organized?

using the channels feature on adsense, I make a channel for each website I use adsense on, then i make a channel for each area I use the ad in. Each ad I make has 2 channels.

    Simple

I have a 234x60 ad-unit (txt only) blended into my header (like DP here)... a 5-ad horizontal link-unit at top (below the top nav links)... a border-less 300x250 ad-unit (img/txt) in the body with text content wrapped around it... and a 728x90 leaderboard (img/txt) at very bottom. And in my search results (I have a searchable database as well), I use the 'AFS Ads-Only' feature (txt).

My index page has a unique code for the 300x250, but I should really have completely separate codes for just the index page. I already know that the index page gets the most hits however.

    SSI is also very helpful.
