Hey, I'd love to share how I organize my pics, and I think it works really well. Let me know if this works for you. I don't use software to organize, only view the photos. Anyways, I start by making really general folders: "Birthdays," "Concert and Shows," "Holidays," "Misc.," "Photos Emailed to Us," "School," "Sports," "Vacation and Trips," and "Weddings." Then, in each one, it gets more and more specific. For example, here's an excerpt from my site for the vacation and trips folder: I'd love to hear from people who do it differently and if it works for you. Also, if you don't mind me sharing your advice on my site, write a small description of how you do it (proper English please) and I'll post it, link to you, and give you credit.
I separate them depending in the occasion of the picture and I am making a folder of my Picture, I think right now I have at least 30 folders of my picture. I am not giving dates as a name of folders I prefer name of the occasion or event of that picture.
I don't organize my photos at all. I dump them to my PC, then burn 2 copies to DVD. Put one DVD on my shelf, and the other "off site" with my other backups. Any photos I want to share get put on the interwebs (flickr/photobucket/etc).
well got a pic's dir on my external hard drive and there I jsut put the folders named after the location where I took the photos, but I might add some sub-dirs for years
I have 3 cameras, so i will make 3 folders for each camera. Each folder will have difference event/place of images. Normally im not sharing my pic online due to copyright issues
