Well, It's really difficult to open cpanel/awstat of all my sites to see the daily traffic. I was wondering if there is any better way of tracking everything in one go ? How you ppl do this ? Regards
same for me google analytics and awstats but looking for some better desktop application to come up. where i can view and monitor data easily.
so does this means that you guys open cPanel->Awstats for every domain ? or have you come up with something better and time saving ?
I use awstats. And yes, open every single site independantly. I'm sure there is a better way - but I try not to spend to much time in my stats.
I've been dying to answer this thread since it started. Now I can make the announcement. If you want to get basic stats by email for free, just sign up at basicanalytics.com Summaries for all of your sites are combined in one daily email. Just one way to get an overall feel for how you are doing without going into each site separately. You can use it as a reminder that you need to take a closer look. Yes, it's in my sig too! If you visit, you might like to digg it. If you are wondering about reliability, the base code body has been in testing for about two years. Some of the code has been around as long as six years. It's like an old shoe ..
@plumsauce - Can you tell me what kind of traffic analysis I can get ? also it seems that digg link is broken.
Hi Poseidon, Let me see if I can post this without breaking the column formatting: example.com date sales total pages visits returns search refers bounce 2006-11-24 0 0.00 19 2 0 1 0 0 2006-11-23 0 0.00 27 10 1 3 1 1 2006-11-22 0 0.00 5 3 0 1 1 2 2006-11-21 0 0.00 21 4 0 3 0 0 2006-11-20 0 0.00 57 10 0 3 0 0 2006-11-19 0 0.00 23 9 0 5 1 1 2006-11-18 0 0.00 21 3 0 1 0 0 average 0 0.00 24 5 0 2 0 0 total 0 0.00 173 41 1 17 3 4 Code (markup): If you have trouble with the column alignment, try going full screen. I previewed it, and it seems fine, but you may not have the same font on your system. It is "fixedsys" as selected from the wysiwyg editor. The actual emails are plain text, 76 characters wide. No html of any kind. You get one report section like the one shown above for each site that you are watching. The trick is to use it like an early warning signal. If you see something unusual, you can then run off to a more comprehensive tool. There are subscribers who have full analytics tools, and use nothing else but the email. I know because during testing, if the emails didn't go out, I was sure to hear about it. Remember, it's FREE, so it won't cost you anything to check it out. Thanks for letting me know about the digg link. I'll have to check it out. Did you have javascript turned off? Plumsauce ..
hi,I didn't checked the requiremens properly but I think it needs the code to be pasted on every page which you want to monitor, right ? also if I put it on 3 sites of mine, than will it send me 3 mails or just one mail with all 3 stats independently or in one mail with everything combined ? I know if the code is same than it will be combined and if the code is different than it will not be combined but still just want to make sure..Also where the "catch" for this free service ?
First, a general announcement: there was a problem with the stylesheet. a big one. my apologies to everyone who might have visited and had a less than pleasing visual experience. Please come back Now, to answer Poseidon's questions: You are correct, the tracker code has to be inserted into every page that you want tracked. This is pretty normal. The best way to do it is to use server side includes or a page footer template. The site reports are combined into one email. You can use multiple codes for one site to segregate activities, or use one code for multiple sites to aggregate activities. Still one email, one report section for each tracking code. If you have ten sites reporting, you will get one email with ten reports in it. Did I mention that the reports always cover a seven day period as a rolling week? That way, you have some basis of comparison. the catch There will be text links in the email featuring the service sponsors. Just a text link and a few words. Nothing major. It's in the same email, not a separate email. The email address stays internal. Of course, clickbench is hoping to catch your business if you decide that you want a full service web analytics solution. That's the whole deal
For Poseidon, and anyone else who is interested, there is a sample email report posted on the site at: http://basicanalytics.com/htm/show.htm
