How do YOU market with Twitter, Facebook, or Myspace?

There are a lot of resources available regarding income generation with social media, but most of them require a fee. Even then, it's usually hit or miss. Are there any experts here that would be willing to give away some information as to how to begin to make money with Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, or a combination thereof? Links to other threads with case studies are encouraged.

I can't wait to read the wisdom in your replies!

Well since you buttered me up with the "can't wait for the wisdom in your replies" remark,

I guess I'll share what works well for me here so you can adapt it to what you're doing and be successful
    when you implement it also.

    Here goes:

1.You can get a 'feed' to integrate your twitter account with your facebook account.

This means when you send a "tweet" it will also appear as an "update" on your facebook profile page simultaneously.

If you want to really kick it all into high gear,

do these 2 steps which will make getting automated traffic from those social networks
and even the search engines part of your daily routine by just doing what you do anyway.

If you have an account as an expert author with ezine articles,

2.Add your twitter username and password to your author's profile so each new article you publish there
will automatically be tweeted to your twitter page.

Since you've already integrated it with facebook, it will also
appear with your clickable link on facebook too.

    Now here's the second step.

From within your aweber autoresonder account,

3.Tick the "tweet this" checkbox each time
you send out a broadcast to your list.

What this does is tweet your email message out
as a link to your aweber account.

    Guess what?

It's also going to facebook too!

This is a great way to get more traffic from twitter, facebook, ezine articles and the search engines
simultaneously with very little effort on your part.

Each of these steps takes no more than a couple of minutes to just fill out a field
    and you're in business.

    To your success!

    Hope this helps ;-)

Yes, there are many people making money with these sites, but you have to know how. I only post my article's links at Twitter for ex. and many people follow me because they like the information I give, but marketing at Twitter could be more aggressive if you look for the people that care about your keywords going to twellow.com and typing there your keywords. Then, depending on what they want, you can answer their questions, offer something, even though this is a tactic that I personally don't use. Many people use it though, and you can do the same if you believe that it fits with your personality. Just, be gentle, don't try to sell immediately.

It really has a lot to do with what kind of niche you're in. MySpace has worked really well for a local events type site I have. My profile is a general one for the site, and people add me. All I do is accept their request and put a thank you with a link to my site on their page. Then people click the link and land on my site that is covered in Adsense. MySpace is good for local business, but not so much for sites that are not region specific.

What you will want to do is send them to a landing page or squeeze page first, then try and land the sale.

If you post something like 'hey buy my sh*t here it is'

People won't respond to it. Sure you might get a click here and there, but the traffic is basically worthless.

On the other hand if you send the traffic to a squeeze page first, you will see much better conversions.

Like instead of sending them directly to your product, send them to a review of your product on a unrelated website.

money is not in Twitter or in Facebook, Myspace.. Its just where you do
the promotions of your site so that many people will know the business you are doing
and then the money start there if you could see your targeted people..

I think that Twitter has the greatest potential.
Twhirl is a great time saver if you want to use Twitter. It is a third party application for twitter. If tweeting takes around 60 seconds, Twhirl cuts down that time to below 10 seconds.

Twhirl stays on the desktop (logged in). You don't need to visit twitter website during your hectic workday. All you do is, click twhirl icon from the system tray and type a short tweet and send. Twhirl also notifies when you receive messages from your followers or the ones you are following. So you don't miss a thing and all without wasting your time.

You can also use twhirl to upload pictures to twitpic.com, a site to share photos

twitter is the best. in my opinion it's like marketing in 140 characters or less. :)))

It's easy to use, easier to automate and creates passive income.

I agree. Twitter seems to be the leader. Everyone has an account there, and you easily enter in contact with potential clients, marketers, friends, etc.

And as you may have noticed, almost all sites give you the possibility to Tweet everything you post, and other sites give you the possibility to send your posts to Facebook too. This is great for everyone. You may post an article in site A for ex, and send its link also to Twitter and Facebook at the same time.
