I have a weight loss membership site with a sales page (with one exit redirect). I intend to break into the industry with the sales proposition that 1) there is no need to go the the gym 2) no need for supplements 3) no need for calorie counting 4) no need to buy any equipment blah blah.. and that it is extremely cheap, less than a cup of a coffee for each month. So the issue here is, how do I best market this site? My Adwords account got banned because I created ads which led to squeeze pages =.= so Google advertising is not a solution for me. I have a medium authority weight loss blog on another domain. So I will market from there.. Is there any other techniques? Does clickbank work for membership sites? Thanks in advance ))
Weight loss is a high interest area. Especially at this time of year. I would submit and share ideas with other weight loss websites. You could always undertake some form of link exchange.
Marketing your membership site is an essential element of success. If no one knows about it, then it will grow much more slowly than you probably want. Because there are two essential ways to utilise a membership site, there are also two approaches to marketing it. This article takes a look at marketing a membership site as an add on to an existing business model and as a standalone business. Marketing A Membership Site As An Add On To A Current Business Model. Many business owners decide to add a membership site onto their existing business model for many reasons. It adds value to their current prospects and customers. It can offer an additional revenue stream and it can help drive traffic and generate awareness. In this case, the ideal strategy for marketing a membership site is to tie it into your existing marketing strategy and tactics. For example, if you already have a business, then chances are you have an existing email list. You’ll want to market your new membership site to your email list, perhaps even giving them a unique promotional opportunity to get in on the ground floor before you make it available to the public. Email marketing is probably the single best way to market a membership site as an addition to an existing business. Social networking is another easy and effective way to market a membership site when it’s being added to an existing business. You can blog about it and link to the posts in your social networking posts. You can offer special promotions to your Facebook fans to join your membership site and you can offer free memberships to social networking friends and fans – with the idea that you will offer an option to upgrade their membership. Marketing A Membership Site As An Independent Business. When you’re first starting a business it’s important to create a marketing strategy that focuses on one or two initial tactics. The reason for this is because if you try to utilize 10 different marketing tactics you’re likely going to only pay half attention to them. You’re going to have too much on your plate. However, if you focus your efforts on one or two marketing tactics then you can perfect these tactics for optimal results. Then add more marketing tactics to your strategy once the first two are working smoothly and generating results. Common Membership Site Marketing Tactics Include: Advertising – Banner, PPC, and classified Content – Article marketing and publishing content for search engine optimization Social Networking – Facebook, Twitter, Forums and blogging Joint Venture Partnerships – Partnering with relevant businesses is a great way to increase awareness. Email Marketing – Building an opt-in list and marketing to that list via autoresponder or newsletter. Before you launch your membership site, take the time to create a comprehensive marketing strategy. Create marketing goals and implement measures to test and track your marketing results. Testing and tracking will help you fine tune your tactics for optimal results and return on investment. Marketing your membership site is fun. It’s a way for you to communicate to the world what a great and valuable membership site you’ve created. To your success!
Thanks for your great effort and long answer, much appreciated! I think the biggest takeaway I have from you is to create a comprehensive marketing strategy before launching it. Will take note of that!
You can use the social media sites like. Facebook, twitter, youtube, to market your site to your target audience.
yup, hmm.. I mean is there any other techniques to drive new traffic? I mean, most of these traffic from these social media is already from the fanbase I already have.. I want to expand the fan base
Do you have a blog attached somewhere? Its so you can put in some seo work, while it leads readers to click around the site. You can do social links, which is what most people are mentioning. -other related forum posts, interacting, but I would avoid this unless you can look like your trying to help them.
Hi James! I don't have a blog on that domain right now, though I have a fitness/weight loss blog on another domain. Alright, sounds good, I will add a blog onto that domain
well, anyway, I have launched my site at http://www.flexiblefatburn.com/ with Clickbank affiliate information in my signature. Clickbank DOES work for membership sites (this is to help anybody else who queries this in the future) I intend to market it by wooing affiliates as well as active selling through my other fitness blog and facebook pages and YouTube channel. Do you have any other good suggestions to share with everybody?
anyway in response to stylabrite's reply once again, I feel that I should concentrate on looking for affiliates, and keep tweaking my sales script/page. What do you guys/girls think?
