I came up with a question recently. How do you manage all aspects of your online websites so that you stay organized? Such aspects include:
    • Accounting & Billing
    • Strategy planning (if at all implemented)
    • Advertising control (link sales, etc)
    • HR management (hiring writers/designers/programmers/..., evaluating them, etc.)

Do you use an office suite like MS Office or OpenOffice (specifically Excel or any other spreadsheet app)? If not, what else do you do to stay organized?

Except for the strategy planning, I employ someone to do it all for me - I think they use the OpenOffice spreadsheet application for most of it.

    I do nothing.

When things are going well I burn myself out working and saving as much $$ as I can... when things are slow (right now) I have enough time to re-organize and try something new.

If things stabilize (I sure hope so) then I think strategy would be my responsibility while the rest can be a shared responsibility between myself and any employees I might eventually have. There you go.

I use a variety of tools. Some are proprietary.

Quickbooks, PeachTree and others are good for simple accounting management of your business.

A great contact manager is a plus.
