In answer to your title more visitors. If for example you have a 1 in 100 click through rate (1%) and you have 10 visitors a day you have to wait ten days for a click. But i you have a 100 visitors each day you will get 1 click a day.

The law of probability means the more you have of something the more chance that it will come up. Therefore get lots of targeted visitors.

Content is imo the best paying, the other 2 are imo not worth it on many sites

 

I am the Referral King, so around 50% of my Adsense earnings are from FF referrals. But I also diversify my earnings by using Kontera, CJ, AuctionAds, ClickBank, YPn, AdBrite and subscriptions. This diversification of multiple income-streams makes a huge difference in total monthly earnings..

100% of my earnings come from refferals. I don't use adsense for content at all because I monitize with affiliate/cpa stuff.

 

Member-subscriptions to access private areas of the forums at my site.. members pay for a subscription via PayPal for $5, then $2 each month to maintain access..

Yah - if you don't have something to provide, nobody will bother.. i have to rack my brains to make sure it's worth it for people to keep subscribing!
