This economy is so F$%^d up it is not even funny...It seems like
every other day gas is jumping about 10-12 cents...

I am just curious to know how some make it on small saleries??

Last year I earned $60k, and every single payday, i was negative
    anywhere from $500-$800 a payday...

today I am making around $100k a year...and I am flat ass broke
every single month...I rent so i do not even own a house, I drove
a small aveo...I do not even have new computers, they are at least
5+ years old... the newest item in my home within the last 5 years
is a $1600 Big Screen, and god damn tax check did not even
    cover that...

I just do not understand how someone like me can make $100k/yr
and not have any money to show for. I do not eat out a lot. I can
not remember the last time I even had a lobster...the closet I come
to a king crap is watching the deadliest catch on TV, so I do not
eat fine foods, unless BK is included on the list....

and everytime I would like to try and make money online or something, I either crash and burn or its just a another scam...

So how do you guys make it on this screwed up planet???

I average around $1.5K each month and since I live with my parents I do not have to pay any rent or whatsoever and this is why I am comfortable here. I do not pay taxes as I withdraw money into my parents account and he will have to deal with taxes but I guess that taxes do not get us so much . I got my laptop this year , Probably will get my 42" LCD Tv by the end of July or August and what else , yes my Desktop is almost 3 years old which I will replace within one year so , I guess I am bit happy then you.. :)

It is a mess right now. And the government is mad that people are paying bills and buying groceries with their stimulus checks. Well, duh, a lot of people out there have been eating peanut butter and jelly for days on end because of the rising food and fuel costs. It's crazy. We have four kids and neither of us make a gigantic salary, the budget is super tight these days.

There are some delightful epicurean treasures like hotdogs, tuna noodle casserole, veggie spaghetti, etc.

Seriously, dscurlock, you need to take a serious look at what you are bringing in and where it is going. Then you need to learn to pay yourself first. Start a savings account or an IRA. If you have a steady income and can swing it, I'd suggest looking into buying instead of renting. Everybody needs to start somewhere. Maybe a fixer-upper house or a condo? In some cases a mortgage payment is less than paying rent.

Don't get in over your head though. Maybe start saving for a downpayment on your own place.

As far as me, when I started freelancing I thought, "Oh this'll be great! I'll take lots of day trips and see new things." Well, let's just say the gas crunch has ix-nayed those plans.
