How do you like CJ? Does it mix well with Adsense?

Hello. I've used Adsense for a few months and made some ok bucks with referals($500USD a mo.), but never over a buck a day in clicks. Since I get 2-12 thousand hits a day throught the week I thought I'd get rid of some of the Adsense click ads with some CJ ads?

Are you guys happy with CJ? Does it take a long time to start making anything, or more importantly to learn that your not? Advise would be loved.
    Thanks. - :D

    Depend on your niche again...
Sounds like your site is somewhat tech related ?
I assume this because you adsense referral programs converts pretty well for you. Maybe you can try some hosting and email marketing affiliates maybe?

It must be some type of firefox site. That's the complete opposite of almost anyone else.

It's mostly firefox.. I run a game download site. Legal downloads. Patches etc. I do make FF glow. 8)
Last night I checked my cj stats.. had like 190 clicks but no referals or sales. Thought that kinda odd. The sales can't be that hard with almost 200 clicks..and in teh gaming niche.. come on. Is there a delay to things there?

cj.com counts googlebot as clicks for me that's probably where your 190 clicks came from

I usually got that many clicks a day with googles adsense but only made a buck a day with those, and figured I might be better off trying something different, since their ads were really not targeting right lately...and paid crap. I was prob losing $ from customers just going to their clicks.
CJ does have some nice offeres if they are honest and actually pay off...and my customers like downloading things and spending money online. Looking at my stats for the month I should be able to catch something. This is all kinda like fishing.
    Successful requests: 2,815,077
Average successful requests per day: 97,120
    Distinct hosts served: 37,565
    7.19 gigabytes Data transferred

Well.. Ive had an assortment of banners for a week now.
Is this normal? I've asked others that tried cj, adn said they just never made anything.. zip.. like nothing ever processed anything.
    Just curious.

Yeah, same for me. I have had tons of impressions all through Jan and Feb and no sale and them boom in March a whole bunch of sales.
Who knows, its certainly odd but I don't buy all the time myself.
Downloading FF that costs nothing is one thing, getting someone to actually fork out their credit card and pay some advertiser is a whole different game.

So was it like after a few months the gears started churning, or was it like backpay- like all the commissions delayed a month or more/

The way I look at things is if I can make 1$ a day I'm happy. Because then you can tweak and build on that dollar...and 1 dollars add up.

I'm losing like 1-2 bucks a day in google clicks right now by changing to cj for those ads. I hope it pays off. Thats 3-6 hundred a year.
    :D

    Hmmm...

I'm not sure what exactly your website is like, but perhaps you are showing the wrong sorts of CJ ads.

    Try ebay ads.

I'm sure gamers buy new gaming parts on ebay all the time.

The ebay cookie stays on their computers for 45 days, or until they clear their cookies. I think that this is very effective considering there is new technology coming out everyday with high demanding games.

Maybe a link to an ebay auction of FF paraphernalia.

If you don't want to go that way---gamers are usually looking to get something for nothing. So with that in mind, you might try some of the survey sites that CJ.com has. Check out my website if you want some examples: www.slickcoupon.com

I try not to mix my cj and adsense as the adsense try to dilute cj clicks / conversions and vice versa.
On a very niche specific page, I put cj.
On articles etc..I go with adsense.

You really have to know your traffic and figure out what you can promote with CJ. Its not like adsense where you throw ads up and pray for clicks.

    Try AuctionAds =)

I've found CJ to be a fair amount of work. If you're used to the passive nature of Adsense it can be a bit of a shock having to hunt down expired advertisers and stuff like that. For me, CJ is an adequate fill-in for places Adsense doen't work but I'd prefer something less hassle.

Yes I too find it a completely different ball game. To get a steady $600 a month with CJ I actually have to do some work on a daily basis. I average half that with adsense but I may not touch those sites for months.
