Thank you for that, snarke. Those are very wise words. To be honest, I love the idea of blogging about my interests. I just wasn't sure if every topic would do fine being presented as a blog than as a web site. I always thought blogs were more "personal" and deals with things that change/update frequently. I'm working on a content writing project and have a domain name for it. But I don't know if I should put the first 20-40 articles in it and then add a blog later, or the other way around.

Yes, that's true about being in a rush to make it all happen at once. With me it's partly being paranoid that somebody else might grab my preferred domains before I get the chance! :D:eek Then again I'd hate to be one of those who eat up dozens of blogs and domains and do nothing with them!

I also have a project about a specific visa/travel topic. It's not very profitable (average CPC is less than $0.5) but it is a subject I know well and I want to blog about it. I'll start it off as a Blogger blog.

That's like what I've always thought. Web sites are for more organized presentation of info. I think when people search for thiings like medical information, step by step guides, etc. they find it easier to navigate a well-structured site than a blog with the newest posts showing up first.

I once saw a nice cover letter blog. The info was very high quality. But it was awkward navigating it because the posts were sorted by date, not topic or sequence.

I agree with tomslinks101. Lots of good advice here. I'm learning a lot!

actually, with their permalink structure and the right plugins, wordpress is probably better at seo than the average website
