How do you know if a link counts?

If there are a number of links pointing to any of your pages, how do you know if those links count?

1. you cannot rely on page rank
2. the links do NOT have any nofollow attribute
3. the sites look ok and are not spammy
4. the links are on topic
5. the links are within the text of the page
6. the links have the proper anchor text
7. the links are coming from different hosts/ip addresses
8. the keyword to rank for is EXTREMELY EASY as there is no competition
9. etc, etc, etc

but...no effect on rankings.

Ideas?

 

If the link pointing to your site is indexed by google it counts.
One link will not help you rank for a very competitive keyword. You have to build more backlinks, and make sure that these are indexed as well.

 

They are indexed in google and there are a bunch of them...

 

they are crawled by google spiders.

 

they are crawled by spider and you can check on your goole webmasters tool.....

 

All links count at a certain degree..but you should not worry about that..just keep pushing and adding links.

Google webmaster tool is a bit slow! A couple of days now and finally I have my search words appearing! Now i hope that at least within the month my backlinks will appear.
