I know everyone has installed different antivirus and anti spyware softwares for protection but what other thing you do? I mean to protect your computer from viruses; - You don't open porn websites? (which sometime has harmful viruses) - You don't download anything from internet? - You don't click on any unknown link? Like to share your tips on how to be safe while connected with internet? also, which antivirus/antispyware softwares you have installed and satisfy with?
complete solution - use linux or install spybot + teatimer + avg anti virus, it works for me (never got virus/popup/spyware)
If you want to keep your computer virus/spyware free it's pretty simple: 1. Don't go to any suspicious sites. My rule of thumb is (and some people might give me a hard time about this) if I go to a site and I immediately get hit with a gazillion popups there's probably spyware too. I avoid those types of sites and hardly get any spyware. And if you do go to porn sites, immediately run antispyware after (or after you're done doing your "thing"). You can't ever prevent spyware 100% (everyone has some), but if you are careful about what you surf, you should be fine. 2. Don't click any suspicious links or download anything you are not sure about. If your gut tells you the link or download is iffy, then don't click/download it. If the website has tons of popups or is overly spammy, chances are I wouldn't trust it for downloads or links. I use Norton Antivirus and AdAware and have been very satisfied with both. Anytime you think about it, run your antispyware software to keep your computer clean.
I think that is the very best option From now I will NOT go to any porn site ... Promise... let see for how long I can keep this promise I am downloading ad-aware right now, let see how it works.
Hahaha, that will last what... a day?? Anyways, I know that AVG is VERY good for anti virus, also 'zonealarm' is a GREAT firewall, it can be a pain sometimes, but it works great!
Me too downloaded that spyware doctor today, I scanned my PC and it found 2 threats but to delete those threats they are asking for "purchase online"
I use a firewall, antivirus and a couple of anti-spyware programs like spybot. I also no longer visit porn or warez sites
I don't visit porn sites and only download trusted ones. Hence the question of malware/spyware/virus doesn't arise. I use avast antivirus which is good in shielding my pc from possible virus attack
I scan my computer for viruses at least twice a week. I use AVG Anti-Spyware, AVG Anti-Virus, SUPERAntiSpyware, Spybot-S&D, and Norton AntiVirus. I only download files from trusted sites that I am aware of and know are safe.
I use Avast anti-virus, Comodo firewall, SpyBot S&D, and HijackThis for my arsenal, and rarely if ever get any spyware or viruses. Here are some of the tips that I've read about on various sites: Keep your operating system and software updated. Most updates are in the form of security fixes that plug up holes (and sometimes create new ones in Microsoft's case lol) to keep hackers from gaining entry into your system and uploading viruses and other malicious programs. Change your browser settings to its highest security level, that way you don't end up downloading any malicious scripts from unfamiliar sites that could harm your system. Note: this setting could affect sites you visit regularly, so put those sites in the trusted sites list. If you receive an attachment in an e-mail from someone you don't know, do not open it and immediately delete it.
I use AVG Internet Security. It keeps my PC clean. If you need original version, contact with me, I am also their reseller.
