How do you keep track of which keywords you've tested and deleted?

I'm beginning to manage and track our AdWords performance at my job. I'm trying to determine the best way to keep track of the keywords I've tested and deleted, so I know not to test them again. The best strategy I've come up with so far is to make a simple list of keywords I've deleted or paused, and check that list every time I think I want to add a new keyword.

Does anyone have a more efficient strategy?

I don't delete any keyword or campaign, I just pause them and I create new campaigns with new keywords.

Open the tab keywords. Then select "All Time" here you will find a list of keywords with status, Paused, active and delete. Figure it out which you have already used.
