How do you keep finding article ideas?

Hi guys, i am sure most of us have been in the situation where you just can't seem to think of any more article ideas.

Well i am worried that, that time is coming so before this happens I am interested in knowing how you make sure you have enough article ideas so that your blog/website doesn't go with out being updated.

Do you use certain strategies to create article ideas up or what?

    Thanks.

Few keywords used in existing article can give you idea to write another article.:) Also keep track what other people are writing on relevant topics, this will give you additional idea to write article.

good point! you could also install a feed reader software and subscribe to feeds form blogs commenting on topics that are covered on your blog as well.

I do keyword searches once a month. Then send 20 keywords or keyword chains to an article writing company and then they send me back 100 articles. Which I then spend an hour editing. I know your asking yourself why are you spending money having a company write articles and then you spend an hour editing each one, why don't you just write them myself.

Because I am too lazy. I would not write everyday as I should, this forces me to do it. This way I have an investment in them and I would feel bad if I did not optimize the investment. So I edit them. Does this make sense. The more I write about I am starting to feel it does not. But it works for me.

Stay immersed in your niche. Read everything you can about it, especially news. Find message boards related to your niche and read what other people are saying, what frustrations they're having, and write about them.

Another thing you could do is go to Google News, do a search on your niche using your keywords, and see what's happening out there. This will give you some ideas to write about or you could post the content itself on your blog and have a short discussion about it and requesting comments. Also, have Google send you an alert about your niche everytime there's news showing up. You can decide the frequency of the alerts.

For me it's simple, I only write when I'm inspired, doesn't work any other way.

Just try to enjoy what your writing about!

    1. Talking with friends, acquaintances, and contacts both online and offline who are interested in my niche. Often, I discover topics that I would not have thought about otherwise, or viewpoints other than my own that would be interesting to explore.

    2. Expand on previous posts. Write a follow-up, a counter-argument (ie: Why So-And-So is Great, Why So-And-So is Awful), or consider where else those topics could be expanded upon. For example, I could write a post about setting up dual-monitors on a technology blog, and then write a post featuring the best monitors for dual-monitor setups.

    3. Be Creative. Good posts require time and work. Do research on topics that interest you.

    4. Write a How-To post.

    5. Create a list post. They're trendy. "20 Killer Dual (and Triple) Monitor Setups".

    6. Create a roundup (list again) featuring quality posts from other blogs in your niche.

Those are just some of my strategies anyhow. Hope they help!
