Exactly how you would promote your website link, just spread the link to your free article in places that are interested to know that information, and you'll make money+increase your article ranking.

By the way, your question is good, if you can explain more, i could help you more, i'm a guru at free methods, so just ask.

    Hope this helps:)

You can write more articles and provide a back link to the article that you want to boost up the ranking. In this way, the article has more back links and then it will be able to rank higher in google.

Social bookmark your articles, link to them from other articles, link to them from other web 2.0 e.g. squidoo, hubs etc.

Get some blog comments (dofollow) linking back to your articles, make some squidoo lenses and link to your articles.

I usually social bookmark them using http://www.socialmarker.com/ or http://www.socialposter.com/

Some of the bigger places like delicious etc have banned ezinearticles but there are other good ones like Indian Pad or Reddit.

Like Scooter suggested making a Squidoo lens, Wordpress and Blogger blogs for back links helps as well.

I mainly use Digg and Stumbleupon for social bookmarking, but I wouldn't want to submit every single article to them. Don't you think that would be a bit spammy?

the social bookmarking suggestions are good, and they work, if you write GOOD articles. genuinely good and readable articles will naturally accrue links and thus rank better.
