What's the best way to hide an affiliate link? cloaking, url redirect, url masking?

Is it true that if you use url masking, you can lose up to 50% of your sales because it throws off the affiliate tracking system?

I use a cloaking and re-direct system. Works fine, and gets rid of that affiliate ID "look".

redirect or whatever you use will not lose your tracking. Just use Htaccess redirect quick easy simple :) and works.

u can use .htaccess file to do redirects so when someone on your site goes to yoursite.com/offer they can be sent to your affiliate link

I have done masking also no loss in trackin.

no. definately not. it just calls one url, from which the other one (containing your affiliate id link) is called. Nothing too fancy here, and nothing to lose.

yes. how can it lose 50% of sales? If it doesn't work, it wouldn't work all the time, if it works, it works everytime. No discussion here, in my opinion.
