In the body of the text, you might want to type in vx8500, but for human readability and appearance sake you might not want to type in vx 8500. I am faced with situations similar to this all the time. One way that some people scoot around this is to add the extra search terms such as vx 8500, usually near the bottom of the page, using a text color which closely matches the page background. Important: It must NOT be the same color or well-designed search engines will penalize your site...I think they call it "ghosting". My personal opinion is that, if you use a slightly different color, you're doing it for a good reason...to make the document more readable for humans, while enabling the search engines to find the keywords in the main body. My suggestion is that if you use this approach, don't overdo it. People who design search engines may consider this a trick to give your document unfair advantage over similar pages with better content. Does this answer your question? Does anyone have a better way?

A great way would be to enable customer reviews and comments. That way all the misspellings look like human error and do not damage the consistency of your site.

You might also wanna try Keyword Discovery to find which versions people search on most, to pick as your primary variation to optimize. I find I use Keyword Discovery for everything nowadays, and it also has an eBay and Shopping database, which helps you drill down into consumer search behaviour.

Spaces have little to no weight when referring to search engines. You're best bet would be to look at how the manufacturers put it - since that's what most people see it as and what looks normal. If their box on the product says Nokia vx5200, then put that in your title tag. Since it's a good idea to put the main keyword twice in the title tag, I suggest putting
    .

    Hope that helps.
